Creative Tendring

Creative Tendring is a cultural programme shaped by the people who live and work across Tendring. It brings residents, artists and local organisations together to explore ideas, develop creative projects and celebrate the district’s people, places and stories.

At its heart is the belief that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy creativity and influence the cultural life of their community. Through conversations, local partnerships and shared decision-making, residents help shape what happens, where it takes place and who gets involved. The programme builds on the creativity, knowledge and community spirit already present across Tendring’s towns, villages and coastal communities.

From music, performance and festivals to making, storytelling, heritage and public art, Creative Tendring supports opportunities that grow from local interests and ambitions. Working alongside artists and creative practitioners, people can try something new, develop skills, share their experiences and turn ideas into activities for others to enjoy.

The programme aims to strengthen connections, reduce isolation and support wellbeing, with particular attention to people who face barriers to taking part. Whether someone wants to join an activity, contribute an idea or help lead a project, their experience and perspective have a place.

Creative Tendring is hosted by Arts Trust Productions, working with consortium partners Tendring District Council, Community Voluntary Services Tendring and Harwich Arts and Heritage Centre. It is funded by Arts Council England through its Creative People and Places programme, made possible by National Lottery players.
